Yugo SKS VS Norico SKS
It will be always a question who's Rifle is better!!!!

Couple of days ago i walked in in to the local store, and one of the sales representatives was trying to sell Norico SKS to the customer. He was going on and on on how Chinese manufactured SKS is better than Yugoslavian. I am a die hard fan of yugo SKS's had to intervene. I have asked to take a look at the rifle(SKS in my hand had have seen better days) and asked a seller to explain his views. He said that Chinese SKS has better accuracy than Yugo, and that barrel quality on Chinese model is chrome lining and Yugo is not. My counter argument was that he is a lousy shot and Quality control in Yugoslavia, back in the day, was higher back then.( i would know better since i live in post soviet union republic and was listening for propaganda)
After researching this question on the internet for a while, visited quite a few forums, review sites,and came to the conclusion that people who own Norico SKS's like Norico better than Yugo, and reversal people who own Yugo likes Yugo better!!! people who own both say its just a matter of preference!!!
I guess every one for himself/herself when its about their own SKS Rifle.. lol

Need Help to find A place to Shoot My SKS
WNY I need Help!!!
Help me to find a place to Shoot my rifles. It seems like i got stuck to Niagara Gun Range. Not that i have anything against it, however it seems like that is only place in Western New York there i do not have to have a membership to go and shoot. Local Gun Clubs do not have open enrollment. it seems like every Single one of the require to sponsors to get enrolled. I do not know anybody who is a member of the gun club. I have searched on the internet and visited a couple and no luck...
Please help, reply i comments with info and i will post it

First SKS rifle I bought (cosmoline!!!!) or Love from the First "Sight"

I will continue with my story. Since local stores were not a viable option to purchase SKS Rifle i turned to the internet. my search continued for a little while. i had no idea which SKS to buy. Apparently, a lot of countries of Soviet union block where manufacturing their own version of SKS rifle. Russian models of SKS are more expensive, Norico (chicom manufacturer) SKS like paratrooper had detachable mags or even 75 round drums(if you in the state like NY or California its not even an option)

there is also Albanian SKS rifles, Asian SKS and others. personally i chose Yugo or Yugoslavian SKS rifles. Best Bang For your Buck!!! The Yugoslav M59/66A1 has been equipped with luminous sights and grenade launcher plus blade bayonet which looks better than spike on Chinese models. This is optimum set for rifle under $1000 dollars.
After research and long bidding process i have been able to purchase my first Yugo SKS on online auction.(that is entirely different topic which probably will need to be discussed at later date)As promised by the seller rifle was in excellent condition, bluing is great, bore is perfect, stock has minor scratches!!! however, here comes a down side, its covered with glue grease - cosmoline, it took hours of work and $20 worth of different detergents to get rid of it!!!!(will have separate post on how to clean of cosmoline from your rifle)

Yugo SKS in Buffalo
Hello Buffalo!!!
Here is another attempt of mine to lay down some thoughts about "N.Y.S.A.F.E. Act" which our public officials trying to portray as panacea from all illegal gun violence.
As a story goes, i got in guns late, just before safe act has been passed i purchased my first .22 caliber "evil assault rifle" GSG-5, from Buffalo Gun Center.
I fell in Love with this rifle and decided to purchase my self AK-47,and here they are with N.Y.S.A.F.E....If you look into what was happening in WNY and rest of the state around semi-automatic and any kind of the rifles for that matter, it was virtually impossible to get one. Stores in the area were overwhelmed with orders and run out of inventory almost overnight. I am still waiting for for my Mossberg Rifle in .17 cal(six months passed by still did not get it). i have lost my hope of getting my self powerful semi-automatic rifle(.22 is nice and fun to shoot but still felt like a toy)until i went on the internet and found SKS rifle!!!!
"Blessing" of the SAFE Act - they would not consider SKS 7.62×39mm (Samozaryadnyj Karabin sistemy Simonova)as "assault" rifle in it original form. Trick is original SKS does not have detachable magazine and that in NY State makes it legal.
